WASTE TYPES
GENERAL HOUSEHOLD
What can you place in the general waste bin?
- Clothes, paper, cardboard, bedding, towels, kitchenware, bathroom accessories, duvets, cushions
- Office furniture such as desks, desk tidies, chairs, stationary,
- Furniture and Appliances
- Cupboards, loungers, washing machines, cots, beds, fridges, chairs, sofas, Computers or TV screens
- Light green waste
- Shrubs, grass, foliage, leaves, twigs
DO NOT PLACE THE FOLLOWING IN THE GENERAL WASTE BIN:
- Hard heavy materials
- Bricks, sand, concrete, tiles, clay, stones
- Soil, Turf or Synthetic grass without prior consent.
- Mattresses and car Tyres can be disposed of at additional cost.
Hazardous materials that must not be placed in this bin include:
- Asbestos, insulation, food, wet paint, empty chemical containers, liquids or putrescibles
GREEN WASTE
- Light green waste
- Shrubs, foliage, grass clippings, leaves, twigs
- Small branches, leaves and palms fronds
- Woodchip and bark – there must be no soil attached to either
- Tree trunks
- The diameter must be smaller than 150mm and to meet requirements
DO NOT PLACE THE FOLLOWING IN THE GREEN WASTE BIN:
- Hard heavy materials
- Bricks, sand, concrete, tiles, clay, stones
- Large tree trunks
- Trunks that are larger than 150mm in diameter
Hazardous materials that must not be placed in this bin include:
- Asbestos, insulation, food, wet paint, empty chemical containers, liquids or putrescibles
MASONRY WASTE
What can you place in the concrete/brick bin?
- Bricks and/or bricks and mortar
- Concrete
- Roof tiles
- Floor tiles
- Pebbles
- Rocks
- Stones
DO NOT PLACE THE FOLLOWING IN THE CONCRETE/BRICK BIN:
- General, green or excavation waste
- Soil or turf
- Green Waste
- Household waste
- Construction waste, Plaster timber etc.
Sand, soil and dirt is strictly prohibited Hazardous materials that must not be placed in this bin include:
- Asbestos, insulation, food, wet paint, empty chemical containers, liquids or putrescibles

SOIL WASTE
What can you place in the soil/dirt bin?
- Soil/dirt rock
- Sandstone
- Clay that is naturally occuring
- Turf and vegetation that takes up less than 10% of the space of the bin
DO NOT PLACE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS IN THE SOIL/DIRT BIN:
- Vegetation that takes up more than 10% of the bin
- Contaminated soil
- Manmade materials

MIXED HEAVY WASTE
What can you place in the mixed waste bin?
- Waste that comes from domestic commercial demolition, construction or renovation
- Hardfill waste
- Bricks, concrete, tiles
- Treated timber
- Retaining walls, decking, floorboards, fences, sheds
- Household waste:
- Clothes, paper, cardboard, bedding, towels, kitchenware, bathroom accessories, duvets, cushions
- Furniture and Appliances
- Cupboards, loungers, washing machines, cots, beds, fridges, chairs, sofas
- Green waste
- Shrubs, foliage, grass clippings, leaves, twigs, bushes, palm trees
- Tree trunks
DO NOT PLACE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS IN THE MIXED HEAVY BIN:
- Hazardous materials that must not be placed in this bin include:
- Asbestos, insulation, food, wet paint, chemicals, liquids or putrescibles
Soil or dirt is strictly prohibited from this bin.
CONTAMINATED SOIL
What can you place in the contaminated soil/dirt bin?
- The contaminated soil bin is for circumstances where man-made material has become mixed with soil and is too difficult to separate.
FOLLOWING ITEMS IN THE SOIL/DIRT BIN:
- Asbestos, food, wet paint, chemicals, liquids or putrescibles
